The Striker is a special type of Infected.

Appearance

Strikers are female with a white, bloodstained bodysuit. The top of the suit and the hood is up, while the Striker's hair, goggles, and oxygen mask help obscure its face.  The Striker's arms aare exposed form the mid arm to the mid forearm.  They wear black lab gloves with long claws coming out of the fingertips. The NEMEXIS logo is featured on its side, which is covered in several round growths.  On the other side, part of the suit is torn due to growths.  The striker wears lab boots.

Overview

In combat, Strikers are the quickest of the Infected. Their gear allows them to take a fair amount of damage, and their thin frame (which makes them harder to target) allows them to hit fast and hard. Strikers are also resistant to Headshots.  They are very quick, and they have an infinite stamina bar, which makes them very deadly to deal with.

Quarantine Regen

Players can become a Striker in Quarantine Regen through the use of the Striker Mutagen. They will have the following advantages in Quarantine Regen:

  • +25% ammo as a human
  • Unlimited sprint stamina as infected

Trivia

  • Strikers were the first female Infected to be introduced, excluding female infected players.
  • In its promotional art, the Striker appears to be holding one of her growths as a weapon, similar to the the Crusher (who has an unused mouth on its hand).
  • The explosive growths that fall from a Striker in Fireteam do not come from its side, but its head.  However, they have no effect.
  • The Striker's eyes are not actually yellow: they are actually a mixture of red, orange and white. The yellow trail often associated with it only 'covers' its eyes (like the red trail for most Infected, and the blue trail for the Crusher), and often falls out of sync when it moves.
  • The Striker's design implies that the victim was once a lab worker for NEMEXIS, likely a researcher on the infected virus.
  • The Striker's ambient and sprinting sounds are different between The Classic and Reloaded, with the latter having the same sounds as the normal infected.
  • The Grenadier zombie from Dead Island: Riptide looks similar to the Striker.
