Overview[]
Subject X is ruthless bio-mechanical hybrid that broke out in rampage in the underground facilities of TEC’s Antarctic Secret Lab.
Subject X, unlike Dr. MG, is much more deadly as he has cold damage attacks and an additional rocket attack.
Abilities[]
- Offense: Stomp – Area of Effect extreme close-range attack. (that also lifts frost from the ground dealing significant cold damage and knock backs players caught in range.)
- Offense: Rush – Close in distance attack; Boss runs toward a target plowing through enemies and allies alike. (can be blocked by some of the high durability map obstacles).
- Offense: Gatling Strafe – Boss fires in the general direction of where the most number of players are gathered in sweeping action.
- Offense: Gatling Aimed – fires a continuous barrage towards the direction any player (or spectator) in the match
- Offense: Rocket Aimed - fires a high damage rocket towards the direction of a player (can be shot out of the sky from intense gunfire and EMP Bomb)
- Offense: Frost Grenade - Throws a Winter M69HE-NL grenade that instead of dealing explosive damage it coats an area with a frost cloud that deals intense cold damage
Strategies[]
- Shoot the blue bulge in the back at >60% hp and his head at <60% hp.
- When the bosses stamina bar is near depletion make a call out to our team to get into position or reload and draw their weapons to beat up Subject X while he is downed.
- Shooting him elsewhere does very little damage.
- Spread out and flank him; don't clump together.
- Keep your distance, his charge attack deals roughly 991 damage and is always fatal.
- Watch out for Freezers. It is advised that these be taken care of using Headshots.
- Well aimed dorsal neck shots are the most damaging sources against him but do to the diffuculty of landing such shots it is recommended to use a Machine Gun or effective nightmare boss: Subject X weapon to headshot him from mid/close range.
- After the 12/17/14 Scheduled Maintenance, the Assault Crossbow was nerfed to be ineffective against Subject X.
Trivia[]
- Subject X is essentially Dr. MG, who is a giant figure in an EOD Suit.
- During the beta his Stomp attack covered the entire map causing nuclear winter and often team wiping in the higher levels, it was later nerfed during the official launch.
- During the official launch his stomp attack now gives a knock back effect to players in his AOE range often times pushing them into the loving embrace of The Freezer or knocking them safely out of his cold damage zone caused by his stomp attack.
- When Subject X is downed he temporarily goes down on a knee again exposing his head to players.
- While Subject X is recovering from being downed he no longer charges and his special attack cooldowns are increased.
- Subject X can target Spectators and if a spectator is in first person mode on a player they are more likely to be attacked.
- During the beta Subject X could be 'blocked' into his spawn capsule by players placing items in front of it and occupying the areas to the side.
- The higher level you face the more attacks Subject X can unleash and the shorter his cooldown is and the more health he possesses.
