Repeatedly play a Command sound that can be heard by all players in the room. The player using the hack is not known/highlighted |
Overview
Voice Spam or Soundwave is a hack that sabotages other players by unleashing combination of loud static and non-stop voice commands to everyone in game.
It is often impossible to tell who is using this hack, because it doesn't act like a conventional voice command (if you were spamming "N + 9" over and over again, it'd be a different story).
Soundwave is uniquely different from something like micspamming because conceptually it is based upon lines of code repeating that tell the game to play this .wav file over and over again.
Hackers usually "announce" their presence by using this hack, resulting in a witch hunt by the other players to kick the person who's causing the noise.
Remedy
The only known (and proven) method to combat against this hack is to simply mute your speakers or headset. The obvious downside would be cutting you off from any in-game sounds (or communication with your team if you depend on Vivox).
Therefore, it's preferable to just leave the room (if possible) instead of having to resort to muting.
Reporting Hackers
Every hacker should be reported, however make sure you are 100% sure that he/she is hacking before reporting. Helping a hacker or benefiting from a hacker is against Nexon's Terms of Service and is one way to get suspended and possibly banned from the game.
