The Prototype Vaccine is currently the only known antigen against the Infection.
Nothing is known about it at this time.
Background[]
NEMEXIS supposedly developed this vaccine as a possible cure (or at least treatment) for the Infection, though it was stolen before any clinical test results could be proven.
Some people have theorized that there really was no cure, and that NEMEXIS faked the incident so they wouldn't have to reveal the truth.
In any case, it is unknown if this "vaccine" has any effect on the Infection (especially at the stage it has reached).
The Cure[]
As the virus seems to bypass any natural defences, and no single person has been shown to be immune to the Infection, there might not be a cure after all. The events of Cabin Fever have proved that not even the player is immune to the virus.
Even if treatment was possible for the Infection, it would have to be for the early stages; as the virus' effects seem to be long-lasting (and possibly irreversable).
The matter of getting the treatment into a victim may also prove to be difficult, especially if the subject has undergone a major mutation...
