An "Infected Nade" is an exploit that gives players the potential to gain massive accolades in Quarantine.
How It Works
Prior to becoming Infected, a player would situate themselves in a crowded area (or within range of one) and throw a grenade. Because you are still on the human team, the explosive thrown will register as a "friendly" grenade.
Once Infected, the thrown grenade re-registers as an "enemy grenade," but still be active. It will go off, killing/Infecting everyone within its blast radius (since all forms of inflicted damage in Quarantine end in Infection).
Trivia
- This glitch is no longer exploitable. All (active) support weapons, including mines, caltrops, etc, will disappear upon Infection.
- A scaled-down version of this exploit can be performed with the Parting Gift ability, which drops a grenade upon death and allows you to still inflict damage after death. This could be potentially devastating in a crowded area as well.
