Combat Arms: Zombies was a Combat Arms-themed iOS-exlusive game by Nexon. It runs on UnrealEngine3.

Details

Players can choose their weapons and level of difficulty (like Fireteam), but they start out in an isolated and closed-in space and must defend themselves from incoming Infected. Killing enough Infected allows access to further areas of the battlefield (like Fireteam).

Levels

Difficulty Levels

  • Easy - Five rounds. Charger Infected attack at round three.
  • Normal - Ten rounds. Witch Infected attack at round six.
  • Hard - Twenty rounds. Enforcer Infected attack at round eleven.
  • Hell - Thirty rounds. Bio-Enforcer Infected attack at round twenty-one. Requires completion of Hard mode on the desired map.
  • Infinity - Endless. Types of Infected and numbers vary from round to round, with no order. Requires completion of Hell mode on the desired map.

These are the types of Infected that appear in this game.

Relevance to Combat Arms

  • In the shop on Combat Arms: Zombies, one can purchase a Medkit, without being a Specialist.
  • Items bought in the shop on Combat Arms: Zombies will be purchased for Permanent, with the exception of support weapons, which are "paid by the nade."
  • Oddly enough, In the shop on Combat Arms: Zombies, for each weapon and gear category there is 3 classes.
    • A class
    • B class
    • C class
  • There is a single standard currency, that being GP. However, using the in-app store, one can buy more GP.
  • On Combat Arms: Zombies, There is spread on All weapons, but no weapons have recoil to balance the difficulty of playing without a mouse. Despite this, recoil is an in-game stat.
  • Compared to Combat Arms, weapons and gear are oddly ranked against each other. For example, the Aviator Glasses offer more gas protection than the Chemical Gas Mask, and the UZI outclasses the MP5 RAS in every statistic.
  • The game states that tanker infected can be killed faster if shot in the groin. Apparently this is their weak-spot. However, this is not the same for Fireteam.
  • The game is much more unrealistic compared to Fireteam. When you shoot at a wall, their will be no bulletholes, and you get headshots when firing at their legs, due to spread.
  • Surprisingly enough, one can buy multiple units of the same weapon. This allows a player to carry, for example, 4 M4A1 rifles to battle, with each having its own individual ammo supply.
  • There are multiple A Class weapons for each class.

Trivia

  • According to Gamepro, Nexon hoped to rival the official PC/Mac versions of CA with this iOS title (in terms of content). It was soon scrapped, however.
  • The iOS version features Infected similar to Infected players from Quarantine (with their vests and everything) rather than the traditional Fireteam undead.
  • The area in the trailer has yet to become a known map (even by iOS standards), though it shares similarities with Waverider and Piazza in terms of building & road style.
  • The title refers to the Infected simply as "zombies".
